The YMCA Sovereign Centre

Our newest facility, The YMCA Sovereign Centre in Woodhatch, Reigate, has now been operation for over 18 months following a year's worth of renovation in 2011!
This project was the result of two years of planning and a £1.2 million capital fundraising appeal by Reigate and Redhill YMCA, who now manage the centre. The centre is already a hive of activity, hosting a variety of different services and provides a bright, modern and fully equipped community centre for all local people to enjoy.
Part of the centre has been dedicated to a state of the art Disability Hub that provides excellent facilities for our expanding services for disabled children and young people, including weekend and holiday playschemes and an afterschool club.
The new facility is fully accessible, with a number of activity rooms, including a sensory room, soft play room, an art room for messy play and a multi-level kitchen area. It also contains two accessible toilets, shower, and changing rooms, a large hall for inflatables, and a sophisticated hoist system running through the activity room, all of which support children and young people with disabilities to become more independent.

Services operating from the YMCA Sovereign Centre:
- Our play and leisure schemes for disabled children aged 5-12 years - Yippee
- Our play and leisure schemes for disabled young people aged 13-16 years - Yip4Youth - are held within a self-contained accessible unit, providing age appropriate activities such as trips, cooking, budgeting.
- Our Youth Services programme gives local young people access to the whole centre to enjoy sport, art, computers, music, a coffee bar area and social activities.
- Local sports clubs utilise the large sports hall and separate martial arts studio for badminton and judo.
